October 31, 2004 - Cape May

Here are some pictures from the first riding event of the Polar Bear Grand Tour for the 2004 - 2005 season. The clock went back an hour today and it was Halloween. If you didn't pre-register, you stood in a long line today.

Timely windshield cover expressed the theme for the day.
Buddies, happy to be starting Polar Bear season.
Just cruisin' through with my pumpkin colored attention getter

Finally, the other end of the line. You get to see Bob Hartpence.

This U-Haul truck was loaded and ready to leave but nobody mentioned that 400 motorcycles would be parked all over the street.
As the driver slowly headed into the street, a bunch of Polar Bears rushed to protect the bikes with their bodies if necessary.
Several riders stood in front of the bikes while others gave directions to the driver to allow him to miss the riders by millimeters. That was close!

Many just stood around in the 70 degree temperatures. Some were stalling because they didn't want to get in that long line.

Ya don't need a Geezer Glide to ride Polar Bear.

My what BIG teeth you have.
One of many Halloween costumes seen today.
Seeing more riders talking on cellphones. "Can you hear me now?"
Lonnie, surprised that I would take a picture before she got a chance to pose. Well, that's the idea.

Part of a group of BMW riders, this woman moved out about five seconds after I took this picture.

I spied Leo, the oldest Polar Bear rider on his 1989 PC as he awaited the signal for his group to leave and head north.
Leo's group. They really protect Leo on his travels. I'm glad they do. We want to keep seeing Leo for a long, long time.
