I'm currently in Florida so I did not make it to this run.

The run today was to Lighthouse Tavern, Waretown, NJ on March 1, 2015. It was the 18th physical run of the 2014-2015 season. (The Hooters run was cancelled because of the weather.)

Guest photographers today are Dave Thompson, Bernard Walsh, Gary Rosen, Desi Smith, and Tom Lins.

Dave said, "Today was 28 degrees and snow. Not a good day to ride. Bob and Jim left early to get their bikes home."

Bernard said, "I enjoyed today's ride to the new location. We had snow flurries on the way down and sleet and freezing rain on the trip home. I could not get the flight leaders to pose outside in the snow. They wanted to wear bikinis. Sherry wanted to ride with me today but I was concerned about the weather. It looks like I made the right call. It became slippery on rt73 for about .5 mile before the bridge."

Gary said, "A real Polar Bear ride today. Temperature was around thirty degrees. On the ride home it snowed all the way up the NJ Parkway and Route 287. The roads were wet, but you could see blacktop. Within an hour of arriving home the local roads were covered in snow with no blacktop showing."

Editor's Note about the last picture: Desi said, "We couldn't get over to stop and help this Polar Bear group. I think the issue was that the State hadn't properly treated the road on both sides between the two exits."

If you took any pictures or videos for this run, please email them to me at walter@motorcycleviews.com and I'll place them on this website.

Note: We now have a special picture gallery on my Motorcycle Views website. It's strictly for Polar Bear Grand Tour riders. Send me a picture of your motorcycle and yourself and get included in the gallery.

If you like, if you see either of our photographers, Bernard Walsh or Dave Thompson, taking pictures, tell them you'd like to have your picture taken for the Polar Bear Picture Gallery. They will tell me which photos are also for the gallery. It will be up to you to contact me with information on year, make, model, and a short description along with your name.

I will also try to put a personal request to you under your picture if I see a picture of you and your motorcycle that looks posed. If you respond, I'll place the picture in the gallery.

Here is another picture of us on Rt 18. We were the group stuck there. We were on the Parkway when
it started to snow, we turned around at Toms River but only got to Where Desi took the picture
before the road got too slick to continue. After Desi took the picture a salt truck came by and the
road cleared enough for us to go a few miles more and get to an overpass. That was better than
being out in the open. We spent a number of hours under the bridge until the tow trucks got there
to carry the bikes home for us. The four of us are Tom Lins, Laura Lins, Bob Fisher and Jim Puglisi.
